Apple lovers rejoice: Apple launch day is here at last. Like clockwork, September has come to mean the launch of a new iPhone model.

Tim Cook has some big news for us at today’s press event, but exactly what that is is shrouded in mystery as usual. The tech giant is keeping schtum, announcing its launch only via the cryptic clue “Hey Siri, give us a hint”.

iPhone 6S is expected to be the star of the show (or will it be an iPhone 7? Nothing is confirmed), but speculation and rumours abound about what else will be unveiled tonight.

News on the Apple Watch, Apple TV and a new iteration of the operating system iOS 9 is to be expected.

So, how best to keep up to speed with the event?

When?

Apple’s launch is held 9 September at 10am Pacific Daylight Time. This translates to 6pm in the UK.

The event is expected to last as long as two and a half hours.

Where?

The launch will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. With room for 7,000 attendees, the arena outstrips previous launch venues by a factor of ten. Some have taken this to mean that Apple’s got something extra special planned for tonight – we’ll just have to wait and see.

For the majority of us who won’t be in San Francisco, Apple is also live streaming the event on its website.

And, of course, City PM will also be covering the event live throughout the evening, so stay tuned for updates.
