Houllier parts company with Villa
Aston Villa have confirmed the departure of Gerard Houllier as manager after nine months at the club. The 63-year-old missed the closing stages of last season due to a heart problem. Fulham’s Mark Hughes is among the early favourites to succeed the Frenchman.
