Horse Racing Betting Tips: You won’t be angry when Red Mist gets the job done

SIMON Crisford, the former racing manager to Sheikh Mohammed, only took up training in 2014, but he has made a very good start to his new career.

Ostilio gave him his first Royal Ascot winner in the Britannia Handicap in June and he has a live chance in next week’s Group One Middle Park Stakes with the unbeaten Jash.

Earlier this week, he combined with Silvestre de Sousa to land the Group Three Prix Eclipse at Maisons-Laffitte with Sporting Chance, and the pair are fancied to follow up in today’s Listed Dubai Duty Free Cup Stakes at Newbury (3.55pm).

RED MIST was very impressive when winning a conditions race at Ripon over a mile last month, which followed on from two fine placed efforts in Listed events in France.

The son of Frankel will have no problem dropping back to seven furlongs and his only previous visit to Newbury saw him beaten a short-head by Hey Gaman in the Denford Stakes last year.

Crisford’s horses are in flying form at the moment and Red Mist has less to prove than Charlie Hills’ Nebo who is admittedly stepping down in class.

Mjjack has won two of his last three, so is clearly improving, although seven of the last 10 winners were three-year-olds and I can see that trend continuing.

Up at Ayr, I like the look of Keith Dalgleish’s MISS BAR BEACH in the Listed fillies’ sprint (3.35pm).

She has finished third in two Listed races on her last two starts and her trainer loves nothing more than a winner at this meeting.

The drop back to 5½ furlongs on testing ground is ideal and she should go close at 9/1 with Coral.
