Horse racing betting tips: Fabricate and Nemoralia can land the cash at Donny

LAST month’s Ebor at York is the richest handicap in Europe and although Friday afternoon’s Ladbrokes Mallard Handicap (3.05pm) is only worth a fraction, it’s always a hugely competitive race.

Hugo Palmer’s Wall of Fire is likely to go off favourite after his impressive win in the Melrose at York. Josephine Gordon takes off 3lbs and she’s been one of the stories of the Flat season.

There’s plenty to like about Wall of Fire, but I’m not totally convinced by the form of the Melrose and I’m happy to swerve the three-year-old at the prices.

FABRICATE wasn’t far behind St Leger second favourite Muntahaa last time at Chester. He has Ryan Moore in the plate now and Michael Bell’s horses continue to be in top form.

It could be quite a trappy race, but that shouldn’t bother Fabricate and he looks the value at 5/1 with Betway.

I was quite surprised to see NEMORALIA entered in Friday’s opening Group Three Sceptre Stakes (1.55pm), but now that she is she simply has to be supported.

I would have backed her against the colts in Saturday’s Group Two Park Stakes, so she has to be a maximum bet here against opposition with plenty of questions to answer.

Lumiere was fantastic two starts back, but she then threw it away at Deauville last time and there has to be a question mark over her now.

The rest of this field don’t look good enough and I’m more than happy to pin my colours to the mast of Nemoralia who is simply better than this level.

Jeremy Noseda is preparing her for some big races in the US and she can take this before going off on her travels.

POINTERS

Nemoralia 1.55pm Doncaster

Fabricate 3.05pm Doncaster
