Hong Kong Horse Racing Tips: Victory could be a Gamechanger for frustrated Moreira

JOAO Moreira is having a tough time at present. The former two-time champion jockey was forced to sit out the last two race-meetings through suspension and then watched his great rival Zac Purton notch up nine winners, including three for his retained John Size stable.

With a further two enforced holidays coming up on the horizon, Moreira will need to bounce back quickly into the winning groove.

Luckily for him, he can rely on inform trainer Size to supply him with enough ammunition to start firing in the winners again.

Size and Moreira team up with a handful of contenders on the Happy Valley card, of which GAMECHANGERS in the finale at 2.50pm over six furlongs looks their stand-out performer.

This son of Canford Cliffs has progressed steadily throughout the season and, despite a rise of 8lbs in the ratings, still looks better than his present mark.

Having won over course and distance last month, breaking the magical 23 seconds for the final 400m, he subsequently just failed in a three-way photo against better competition, carrying a 6lb penalty, at Sha Tin three weeks ago.

With most of his main competitors drawn wide, he is mapped to get a dream journey along the rail, and make his impressive finishing kick count in the home straight.

Earlier in the afternoon, keep an eye on the Size-and-Moreira partnership when they team up with Sir Redalot in a highly-competitive handicap over six furlongs.

This five-year-old hasn’t fired for most of the season, but finally gets the all-important inside draw, and is now racing 2lbs below his last winning mark.
