Hong Kong Horse Racing Tips: Debutant Loving A Boom out to reignite Gibson’s season

RESULTS haven’t quite gone according to plan for trainer Richard Gibson this season.

Gibson, who used to train in France, was full of enthusiasm and hope that he had a stable full of horses that would reignite his career back to those heady days when multiple Group One winners Akeed Mofeed and Gold-Fun were carrying all before them in Hong Kong.

A middle-of-the-road tally of 16 winners can be considered no more than fair, with some major disappointments along the way.

However, there is now a feeling of optimism that the tide is about to turn, with the stable firing in four winners, including Dubai-bound Wishful Thinker, in the last three meetings.

Gibson will surely be optimistic about the chances of LOVING A BOOM who races at the inner-city track for the first time in the 1.15pm over six furlongs.

This lightly-raced son of Acclamation didn’t get home when tried over seven furlongs at Sha Tin at the end of last month.

But his previous form, notably when chasing home progressive Tornado Twist over six furlongs at Sha Tin, marked him down as a horse to follow.

With plenty of early speed to overcome his potentially awkward draw, and an eye-catching Happy Valley trial back in November a major plus, this must be the moment for the Matthew Chadwick-ridden gelding to get his name on the scoresheet.

It won’t be easy with the likes of smart newcomer Joyful Union and the well-handicapped Buoyant Boy in opposition but Loving A Boom can prove himself far better than his current rating.
