Here’s how many homes in Manchester you could buy with Paul Pogba’s transfer fee
You could buy 537 average-priced properties in Manchester with the money that Manchester United spent on Paul Pogba, it turns out.
Pogba holds the world record transfer fee after United forked out £89m for the Frenchman – while the average property value is £165,686, according to research from HouseSimple.com.
The online estate agency compared the average property value in the areas surrounding each Premier League team with the price of their most expensive summer signings, following a mad summer of spending.
The biggest signing by United's neighbours Manchester City this summer was John Stones, at a whopping £47.5m – which would buy 286 houses in the city.
And the £16m current champions Leicester City paid for Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa could buy you just 82 properties in the local area , but Liverpool's Sadio Mané's transfer value of £34m could buy 223 houses near Anfield.

The cheapest properties in Premier League towns are in Burnley, averaging at a value of £114,518. At that value, Icelandic winger Johann Berg Gudmunsson's transfer fee of £2.6m could get you 22 houses in Burnley.
Unsurprisingly, the most expensive average house prices were in Chelsea, and after a relatively quiet transfer window they reside fairly low down this table. With the money they splashed on Belgian youngster Michy Batshuayi, you could buy a mere 33 Chelsea properties.
According to thisismoney.co.uk, the average house price in 1996 was £70,000. That year, Alan Shearer signed for Newcastle for a world record £15m, which would have got you 214 houses.
