A handshake is all you need to solve racism, says Blatter
FIFA president Sepp Blatter has denied football has a problem with racism on the field, and believes incidents of that nature could be settled with a handshake.
Blatter’s comments came just hours before the Football Association charged Liverpool’s Luis Suarez with racially abusing Manchester United’s Patrice Evra.
England captain John Terry, meanwhile, is currently the subject of two separate investigations following claims, which he strenuously denies, he abused QPR defender Anton Ferdinand.
Blatter said: “There is no racism [on the field], but maybe there is a word or gesture that is not correct,” Blatter said. “The one affected by this should say ‘this is a game’ and shake hands.”
