Good times never seemed so good: The Coldstream Guards get Euro 2020 fever
Calls for a bank holiday, late starts at workplaces across the country and even the return of mystic meerkats predicting football results: England has gone football-crazy, and we haven’t even won anything yet.
The latest to join the party was the band of the Coldstream Guards – who this morning performed a special rendition of one of England’s unofficial anthems, Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline.
The song has become a terrace (and pub) favourite over recent years, belted out by England fans after the Cricket World Cup win at Lord’s in 2019 and now the post-match singalong of choice for the Three Lions.
The band had already covered the iconic It’s Coming Home earlier this week.
