Brits who have had two jabs of a coronavirus vaccine may yet be able to travel without quarantining on return from August as the government reviews its travel policies.
Double vaccinated Brits could find themselves free of current travel quarantine rules from August.

Brits who have had two jabs of a coronavirus vaccine may yet be able to travel without quarantining on return ‘later this summer’, the government said this evening.

Transport secretary Grant Shapps said the government was considering removing the quarantine period for fully vaccinated people travelling from amber list countries, “showing a real sign of progress.”

The transport secretary did not, however, outline when these plans would be confirmed.

Meanwhile, Malta, Madeira, the Balearic Islands, and some Caribbean Islands including Barbados have been added to the Government’s green list for travel.

All additions to the green list apart from Malta will also join a new ‘green watchlist’, as will Israel and Jerusalem – signalling that these countries are at risk of moving from green to amber.

The full list of countries being added to the green list from 4am next Wednesday is as follows:

  • Anguilla
  • Antigua and Barbuda
  • The Balearic Islands (which include Ibiza, Menorca, Majorca and Formentera)
  • Barbados
  • Bermuda
  • British Antarctic Territory
  • British Indian Ocean Territory
  • British Virgin Islands
  • Cayman Islands
  • Dominica
  • Grenada
  • Madeira
  • Malta
  • Montserrat
  • Pitcairn Islands
  • Turks and Caicos Islands
