Football betting tips: Liverpool expected to break down stubborn Saints’
THEY say late goals can clinch titles and Liverpool are becoming masters at snatching victory in the dying embers of matches.
Toby Alderweireld’s unfortunate own goal last Sunday meant the Reds have now scored three winners in the 90th minute or later this season, all of which have maintained their push for a first league title since 1990.
While at this stage of the season the result is by far the most important thing, Jurgen Klopp will surely be happy that for the first time in a number of months, his side showed glimpses of their old selves at Anfield.
Notably, Roberto Firmino’s powerful first-half header which was beautifully created by the superb Andy Robertson.
Alongside the equally impressive Trent Alexander-Arnold, the duo have formed a fantastic partnership and are a constant source of creativity for Liverpool’s potent attackers.

They have won two of their last three on home turf and their win against Tottenham shows they have the capacity to mix it with the league’s best.
Klopp will be wanting his side to get off to a quick start as the longer this one stays goalless, the greater the anxiety will be among the Liverpool supporters as well as the players.
However, I don’t see that happening and I expect Southampton to frustrate Mohamed Salah and Co for the first half at least.
That’s for as long as I think they’re capable though, so I’ll be backing the Reds’ attacking superiority to take its toll eventually.
