QUO VADIS OPENS ON SUNDAYS
Fashionable Soho restaurant Quo Vadis is now open for business throughout the weekend, with Sunday lunch and dinner on the menu. Owners Sam and Eddie Hart are aiming for a relaxed, family atmosphere during the day, with entertainers keeping the littl’uns amused upstairs while parents enjoy lunch in the restaurant below. The full a la carte menu is available, as is a Sunday lunch menu, including roasts, steak tartare and grilled dover sole, at £35 for three courses plus wine, water and coffee.

HESTON’S BOOK REDUCTION
When it came out last year, The Big Fat Duck Cook Book was a thing of beauty that matched the finesse and experimentation of Heston Blumenthal’s Bray restaurant. Its £125 price-tag meant it was really only for those who can afford to eat at the restaurant itself, but a smaller, cheaper – though barely less beautiful – version is out this week. It’s still a coffee table whopper of a tome, though, packed with exotic illustrations, detailed recipes that almost make you imagine you could make things like edible rose bush and roast foie gras benzaldehyde, and some of the most gorgeous food photos ever taken.

COMPTOIR LIBANAIS IN PADDINGTON
Lebonese cafe chain Comptoir Libanais has been quietly making a name for itself during the past few months, with chic venues at Westfield and on Wigmore street offering healthy, mouth-watering Middle Eastern dishes, sandwiches, wraps and deli items at very friendly prices. The latest addition is a branch in Paddington, which is upping the game by offering shawarma – a superior version of the old doner kebab – and also having a licensed bar.

OYSTERS GET YOU OYSTERS AT LE PONT
Fans of oysters should head to Le Pont de La Tour by Tower Bridge where bringing your TFL Oyster card will get you six complimentary oysters for two when booking the three course set lunch or dinner menus. The offer’s available for October, and must be mentioned when booking.
