DEAN STREET TOWNHOUSE OPENS
There’s a new place to go to in Soho, from the people behind Soho House. Dean Street Townhouse is a chic little boutique hotel with a restaurant overseen by The Ivy’s former senior sous chef, Stephen Tonkin. There’s an old school British sensibility with oysters, fish and chips and mince with boiled potatoes (hello austerity Britain!) all featuring, as well as some more refined dishes like pheasant in Oxford sauce or Cornish brill with ceps. Drop by in the afternoon for scones and clotted cream. 69-71 Dean Street, W1D 3SE, www.deanstreettownhouse.com, 020 7434 1775.

LUNCH DEAL AT CINNAMON KITCHEN
To celebrate its first year of opening, leading Square Mile Indian eatery Cinnamon Kitchen has launched a new lunch menu. Get stuck into dishes like char grilled monkfish with masala vermicelli or baked leg of rabbit with missi roti and corn sauce at the rather good value £15 for two courses or £18 for three courses. And there’s an added bonus for City PM readers – quote “City PM” when booking, and enjoy a complimentary glass of an Anise Fizz infusion of pear, vanilla and prosecco. 9 Devonshire Square, EC2M 4YL. www.cinnamon-kitchen.com, 020 7626 5000.

COCKTAILS IN CANARY WHARF
The Parlour is a new bar and restaurant whose owners are looking to bring a bit of colour to Canary Wharf’s monochrome surroundings. You can sit back and swing in funky hanging chairs, gather for a hot toddy round the fire, or have your seafood served to you in a bank deposit box, apparently. I suppose there are a lot of empty ones sitting around that need using these days. There’s also a diverse cocktail list, including the Russian rose martini (Smirnoff black vodka with lychee liqueur and ginger syrup served with a rose petal in a coupette) and the Lounge Lady (Tanqueray gin with grapefruit juice, grenadine and maraschino liqueur, served with a gin-infused cherry). Sound like style over substance? We look forward to finding out. The Park Pavilion, 40 Canada Square, E14 5FW. www.theparlourbar.co.uk, 0845 468 0100.
