ALLENS BUTCHER GOES ONLINE
Time-poor, meat-loving Londoners will rejoice to know that they can now order their meat online from the famous Mount Street butchers. Alongside a stellar selection of beef, lamb, pork, veal, poultry, game and sauces, you can order seasonal favourites such as the Scottish beef-filled Steak Box and Christmas turkey. A new feature, Cut Explorer, is an easy-to-use guide to types of meat and the best cuts from each, and there are tips from master butcher David House on how to get the most out of your meat and unusual suggestions. www.allensofmayfair.co.uk

BLUE’S KITCHEN BRINGS SOUL TO CAMDEN
There’s live music every night at this new Camden soul food bar and restaurant, adding some competition to gargantuan Asian restaurant and bar Gilgamesh up the road. Get your chops into the likes of seafood gumbo, bbq chicken, jalapeno cornbread, po’boy sandwiches and milkshakes in key lime, pecan, and Mississippi mud pie flavours. But leave room for the bourbon, naturally – there’s a good selection of Tennesse whiskeys and rye, too. Yee haw. 111-113 Camden High Street, NW1 7JN 0207 387 5277

CANTEEN OPENS IN CANARY WHARF
The Docklands food scene just keeps hotting up. Following the opening of Jamie’s Italian and Lower East Liquor Bar, the Wharf has got its own branch of the beloved best of British chain. Now workers can chow down on well-sourced winter fair like shepherd’s pie, haddock and chips, carrot and ginger soup and local cheese. There’s a changing menu of stews and pies. Winter’s here and there’s no better place to fuel up. The Park Pavilion, 40 Canada Square, E14 5FW, tel: 0845 686 1122
