HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLUEPRINT CAFE
The Design Museum’s well-respected restaurant, the Blueprint Cafe, opened 21 years ago today. To celebrate, head chef Jeremy Lee has created a three-course set menu, including a glass of fizz (and, of course, Blueprint’s fantastic views along the Thames from its Bermondsey riverside setting) for a very reasonable £21. Dishes include squid with samphire and peas, grilled middlewhite pork and asparagus, and lemon posset with rhubarb. The 21st Birthday menu runs until 10 June. BBQ HEAVEN AT THE GUN
Those in Docklands can, from today, get stuckinto what’s become one of its more enjoyable seasonal traditions, the A Grehla barbecue at the area’s best gastropub, the Gun, which specialises in Portuguese food. That means plenty of fresh fish charring over the coals, and wonderful southern herbs and vegetables. The Gun, 27 Coldharbour Lane ,E14 9NS, www.thegundocklands.com

BENARES HEADS TO SOHO
A pop-up version of Atul Kochhar’s Michelin-starred Indian restaurant, Benares in Mayfair, is currently running at Soho food joint Meza. The latter’s modern grill menu has been replaced by some of Benares’ best-known dishes, such as goan goat koftas with lavender and peanut honey, Kashmiri style lamb Roganjosh with potato and ginger cakes, and Rajasthani crisp okra with harrisa mayonnaise. The decor has also been given an Indian makeover. Until 28 May. Meza Bar &?Grill, 11 Wardour Street, W1F 0TN. www.meza-bar.co.uk

A TASTE OF LONDON
Tickets are available for the major food festival, A Taste of London, which runs 16-19 June. www.tastefestivals.co.uk
