M. ROUX GOES TO WESTMINSTER
As the post-election fall-out rolls on, Michel Roux Jr (below), chef patron of London’s most famous French restaurant and feared critic of Masterchef’s professionals edition has moved into politics – sort of. Yesterday saw the opening of the Le Gavroche maestro’s new project, Roux at Parliament Square, in a grand Victorian building opposite the Palace of Westminster. Politicos who dine there can feast on modern European food in suitably luxurious surroundings. INN THE PARK BRINGS IN THE SUMMER
For anyone who’s had quite enough of all the election kerfuffles and fancies a bit of piece and tranquillity, St James’s Park’s centre of idyllic summer dining Inn The Park has opened its alfresco dining terrace and roof top bar. There’s an ever-changing menu offering all manner of locally-sourced summer fare, from baked razor clams with wild garlic crumbs to Barnsley lamb chop with grilled kidney and spring greens.
