UMAMI DINNER AT NOBU
Nobu Mastuhisa, of Nobu, will be flying in to London to host a special dinner at his restaurant in Old Park Lane. The idea is to showcase the “extra” taste umami, best described as tasty savoury, and common in Asian cuisine. After a talk by Mastuhisa, a dinner will take place, pairing the tastes of sake with umami through kelp, dried miso, dashi in chawan mushi, truffles and beef. Sake and Umami dinner on 12 and 13 April, £200 per person. To book, call Amir Jati on 020 7447 4777.

AMIKA TURNS THREE
Life is short in the world of nightclubs. Therefore it is with great glee that Amika nightclub celebrates its third birthday. Celebrations at the VIP club will be a visual and musical spectacle, but the centrepiece for greedy specimens is a decadent champagne jelly sharing-cocktail with fruit – the fun of it is guessing which champagne has been used. 63-65 Kensington High Street, W8 5SE,
