ROYAL MILITARY ACADEMY
Price: From £165,000
A luxury flat in an 18th century military school is not the typical home of a first-time buyer. But a regeneration project has turned the academy into a luxury development with studios, one-beds and two-beds on offer.

9 WEST GROVE
Price: £2.7m

NEED TO KNOW | AREA INSIGHT

Commuting: The DLR from Greenwich station takes 20 minutes to reach Bank, while the overland train reaches London Bridge in 8-10 minutes. A boat to Blackfriars takes 35 minutes.

Schools: Halstow Primary School and Millennium Primary School have over 80 per cent of pupils achieving strongly at Key Stage 2. St Ursula’s Convent School averaged 88 per cent of pupils achieving A*-C at GCSE.

Crime: Though its historic centre is picturesque and safe, Greenwich borders more deprived areas and has a higher than average crime rate.

Restaurants and pubs: Plenty of cosy old pubs, some with gastro inclinations. The Trafalgar Tavern and The Vanbrugh are favourites.

Parks and leisure: Greenwich Park, one of the Royal Parks, is one of London’s great green spaces, and home to the Greenwich Observatory. The National Maritime Museum, Old Royal Naval College and Queen’s House also make Greenwich a tourist hub.
