Phil Crozier, director of wine at Gaucho, picks his favourite bottles from the menu

Vina Patricia Malbec 2010

From Gaucho’s own vineyard in Lunlunta, Mendoza. Rich, with dried flowers and ripe black fruits, a touch of bitter chocolate and sweet spice to finish.

Passionate Wines Demente 2011

A field blend of Malbec and Cabernet franc. Kirsch, menthol and rich black cherry compote, with soft and silky tannins and a touch of graphite on a long, long finish.

Price: £99

Matias Riccitelli Republica Malbec 2011

Deep, with jammy black fruits and cassis, a touch of anise and a glorious silky feel. Plenty of oak, but beautifully integrated into this single vineyard in Malbec.

Susana Balbo Mandala Tannat 2011

A real winter warmer from the Northern Province of Salta. Sticky toffee pudding, dried dates and muscovado sugar. Raisins and dried fruits with a rich aftertaste.

Emma Zuccardi Bonarda Argentina 2011

Sourced from very old vines in the east of Mendoza. Rich and ripe, with dried fruits and fresh blueberries, very soft and sticky in the mouth.
