Coral founder Joe Coral, born Joseph Kagarlitsky, set up his first pitches at Haringay and White City greyhound tracks in 1927.

It is now part of Gala Coral group, one of Europe’s largest betting and gaming businesses.

Coral is the third largest retail bookmaking business in the UK with a market share of approximately 20 per cent.

As well as a retail estate of more than 1,750 shops, the company operates online betting via coral.co.uk, mobile and telephone betting operations, and two leading greyhound stadia, at Romford and Hove.

Coral has a workforce numbering approximately 10,000 people.

It is the only UK bookmaker to operate its own unique bespoke betting shop TV channel – Coral TV.

As well as having its head office being based in Westfield, it also operates the only betting shop within the Westfield complex.

Other divisions within the Gala Coral group include Gala Bingo, Gala Casinos and Eurobet Italia.

The Westfield office has space for more than 300 staff.

The building is rated as BREEAM Excellent, a prestigious environmental rating for buildings.

The pavegen floor tiles used in the development harness kinetic energy.

The site is adjacent to the London Olympic Park, East Village.
