Almost half of Britons believe England should drop Harry Kane, according to an exclusive City PM poll.

Kane has 34 goals in 54 appearances for England but is yet to have a shot on target at Euro 2020.

And 49.4 per cent think Kane should be left out of the team against the Czech Republic tomorrow, the poll by OnePulse for City PM found.

Kane had the fewest touches of any player in the England starting XI in Friday’s 0-0 draw with Scotland.

The centre-forward also had the lowest pass completion rate of any England outfield player. It was the same story for Kane in the team’s win against Croatia in their opening Euro 2020 game.

England can guarantee a place in the last 16 if they at least draw with the Czechs at Wembley on Tuesday evening.

Confidence fading that England can win Euro 2020

Fewer than three in 10 Brits now believe England can win Euro 2020.

Some 72 per cent don’t think the Three Lions have a chance of glory following the stalemate against Scotland.

The results suggest confidence is waning. 51 per cent of Brits believed England were contenders after the win over Croatia, a previous OnePulse poll for City PM found.

England have not won a major trophy since 1966 but reached the World Cup semi-finals three years ago and were among the favourites for Euro 2020.

France pip Germany as most feared opponents

World champions France remain the opponents that Brits would fear most.

Les Bleus polled 35 per cent, slightly more than England’s tournament nemeses Germany, on 33.7 per cent. Italy were third with 22.8 per cent of the vote.

The poll of 1,000 people was conducted on Saturday before France drew with Hungary and Germany beat Portugal.
