Exclusive: BAM signs £95m deal to redevelop St Pancras industrial estate
Construction firm BAM has been brought on by property firm W.RE to redevelop an old industrial estate near St Pancras’ hospital in Camden, City PM can reveal.
Under the £95m deal, the firm will build offices, retail and two separate residential buildings on the site, as well as a new mini park.
The St Pancras Campus, as the redevelop is known, has been designed by Stirling-Prize winning architects Caruso St John.
Construction will finish in 2024. On completion, it is hoped that the site will be inhabited by science and technology firms. Half of the office building is already under offer to a technology company.
The new building will make use of a number of climate friendly technology, including air source heat pumps, solar panels, and “blue” and “green” roofs.
The development will also create 27 apprenticeships for BAM Construction, a subsidiary of Dutch engineering blue bloods Royal BAM Group.
It also marks BAM Construction’s 150th project in Camden.
