Eurostar tells passengers not to travel as heat causes train chaos
Eurostar has warned passengers not to travel to and from Paris today as the heatwave continues to wreak havoc.
The train operator warned that issues with overhead power lines in Paris had caused severe disruption, and advised against all but essential travel.

Eurostar has already cancelled four services between St Pancras and Paris Gare du Nord, and has warned passengers to expect heavy delays on any trains that run as planned.
Services on the Brussels route are also expected to be delayed by up to an hour today due to speed restrictions imposed as a result of the heat.
The disruption comes after extreme heat crippled transport services across the UK.
Temperatures hit more than 38 degrees in Cambridge yesterday, making it the second hottest day ever recorded. Paris posted a record high temperature of more than 42 degrees.
The cancellations, which come on one of the busiest travel days of the year, mean holidaymakers may be forced to find alternative routes.
But the weather has also hit UK airports, with severe delays and cancellations Heathrow and Gatwick.

Separately, a technical problem with the UK’s air traffic control system has also impacted flights.
Eurostar said customers can exchange their ticket and travel at a later date free of charge. Passengers are also entitled to compensation if their train arrives more than 60 minutes late.
