SVEN-GORAN ERIKSSON’S brief tenure at Notts County ended yesterday after a consortium of investors, headed by businessman Ray Trew, bought the League Two club for £1 from former chairman Peter Trembling.

The Swede resigned from his post yesterday but has taken up an offer to continue in a non-active role as joint life president.

Lincolnshire-based Trew said in a statement: “Our vision is not for the short term but for the long term.”
