Here's a late contender for 2014's chief financial officer carousel: Darren Mee, the chief financial officer at recently-listed EasyHotel, has stepped down, saying he wants to "pursue another opportunity".

No word on what aforementioned opportunity is, but the company said its board had "accepted his resignation", adding that Mee will step down on 29 January.

EasyHotel, EasyJet's sister company, was listed on Aim in June, raising £30m, half what it had originally hoped for.

Earlier this month it posted results showing revenues jumped 34 per cent to £3.5m in the year to the end of September, although pre-tax profit plummeted from £1.4m in the previous year to £572,575, due to costs associated with its listing on Aim.

Simon Champion, the company's chief executive, said a search for Mee's successor will commence "shortly".

The board would like to thank Darren for his substantial contribution to the company this year and helping us achieve our successful listing on Aim.
