Drones banned in London for Barack Obama’s visit to the UK
A ban has been placed on drones across London when the US President visits the capital later this week.
Between Thursday evening and Sunday morning the devices will be grounded by the ban, as "part of the overarching security plan" for Obama's visit.
The ban was instigated by the secretary of state for transport Patrick McLoughlin and drones will be prohibited from flying under 2,500ft within the areas.
Obama and the First Lady are due to fly into the UK on Friday. They will join the Queen at Windsor to celebrate the Monarch's 90th birthday.
A drone incident occurred at Heathrow earlier this week when one of the devices is believed to have hit an incoming flight. Police are investigating.
