Donald Trump is actually persuading people that the US election could be rigged

Donald Trump's mad warnings that the US election could be rigged are having a drastic effect on the electorate.

A new poll out from POLITICO/Morning Consult found that 73 per cent of Republicans think the US election could be swiped from him.

Across the voter spectrum, 41 per cent think November's election could be "stolen" from him due to fraud.

In the past week the Republication nominee has upped his attacks on the media, claiming they are helping to fix the result.

Of course there is large scale voter fraud happening on and before election day. Why do Republican leaders deny what is going on? So naive!

Trump has said today on Twitter that there is "large scale voter fraud happening on and before election day". He has previously declared that Hillary Clinton, his opponent, is working with the media to rig the result.

However, the House Speaker Paul Ryan has distanced himself completely from Trump's remarks.

"Our democracy relies on confidence in election results, and the speaker is fully confident the states will carry out this election with integrity," he said in a statement over the weekend.

But Trump's rhetoric is rubbing off on the voters. 60 per cent of the 2,000 that were polled said it was necessary to raise questions about the election results because it could be compromised by voter fraud or a foreign government.

Voting is already underway in many states, and with 22 days until election day Clinton is ahead in most national polls.
