Domino’s sales are looking tasty, after the pizza maker’s revenues jumped by double digits for the eighth consecutive quarter.

The company's third quarter sales rose 19.4 per cent in the three months to the end of September, leaping from £179.6m to £214.5m, according to a trading statement released this morning.

This growth was powered by digital investments in the UK market, Domino’s said, as revenue from online orders shot up 35 per cent against last year. Three-quarters of the company’s sales are now made online, mainly through mobile apps.

David Wild, Domino’s chief executive, said:

We are delighted by this performance as our UK business goes from strength to strength, reflecting the success of our strategic and marketing initiatives.

It represents the eighth consecutive quarter of double digit like for like sales growth as we continue to focus on delivering great food with great service, using our best in class digital platforms.

The pizza maker, which has over 900 stores in the UK and Europe, has opened 33 new UK stores in the year to date, and has set a target of opening another 17 before the year is out.

Domino’s shares are up 27 per cent since the beginning of 2015.
