Delays on Piccadilly Line, District Line and London Overground as trio of signal failures hit at Hammersmith, Upminster and Enfield while broken train causes chaos on Southeastern services

Commuters faced delays on several Tube and train lines this morning, thanks to a trio of signal failures as rush hour started.

The entire Piccadilly Line was suffering from severe delays, after a signal failure at Hammersmith disrupted the route. The failure, which occurred early this morning, had originally knocked out the service between Hyde Park Corner and Acton Town. Although the Tube was now running, severe delays remained as of 7:30am.

There were also delays on the District Line between Earl's Court and Richmond/Ealing Broadway because of a signal failure at Upminster. The rest of the line is unaffected, Transport for London said.

And on the London Overground, there was no service between Edmonton Green and Enfield Town because of yet another signal failure.

There was no word on when any of these issues would be resolved.

Separately, a broken down train was causing chaos on Southeastern services between Ore and London Charing Cross and London Cannon Street.

Delays are expected to last until at least 11am.
