GOLF: Welshman Rhys Davies blazed a flawless 65 to take a share of the lead after a rain-affected opening day of the Malaysian Open.

Davies, 24, produced five birdies to reach the turn in 31 before picking up further shots at 10 and 17 to join Spain’s Ignacio Garrido on seven-under-par.

The pair lead Thongchai Jaidee and South Korea’s Dae-Hyun Kim by a shot.
