Brand ambassador platform Limitless Technology has secured £5m in funding as it looks to develop its machine learning technology.

The company, which uses crowdsourcing to help businesses turn their customers into brand ambassadors, said it has bagged the funds in a series A round led by Albion VC.

The London-headquartered firm said the funding, which also came from Downing Ventures and Unilever Ventures, would also drive expansion in Europe, North America and Asia.

Roger Beadle, chief executive and co-founder of Limitless, said: “We are delighted to have secured this round of funding with our investors, which will help us take our promise of an on-demand, flexible talent pool of customer experts to more businesses around the world.”

Limitless uses AI and crowdsourcing to enable firms to turn customers into freelance customer experts, who are rewarded for providing on-demand support. The company counts Unilever, Microsoft and Amazon among its clients.

“There is an opportunity for brands to transform their customer service by leveraging the power of the crowd,” said Robert Whitby-Smith, partner at Albion VC.

“Creating a customer community which engages and rewards customers for helping other customers is the future – it is better, faster and cheaper.”
