Continental boss gets the chop
Germany’s Schaeffler Group finally claimed the scalp of car parts manufacturer Continental’s chief executive Karl-Thomas Neumann yesterday by breaking down union opposition to his ousting with a last-minute compromise offer. The ball bearings manufacturer that controls 90 per cent of Continental installed the head of its own automotive components business, Elmar Degenhart, as the new chief executive.
