Commuters using the Northern Line this morning are facing severe delays due to a faulty train.

There is no service between Camden Town and Edgware and severe delays between Camden Town and Kennington, with minor delays on the rest of the line.

There is also a disrupted service on the District Line with minor delays between Earl's Court and Turnham Green due to signal failure at Kew Gardens. There is currently no service between Turnham Green and Richmond.

The Northern and District Line delays come as Piccadilly Line passengers continue to face serious delays on the line. Around half the Piccadilly Line fleet was taken out of service for repairs last week, and until all the trains are restored to proper working order, a reduced timetable is running.

Meanwhile, this could be a mere test run for the transport chaos that could beset the capital over the Christmas period – Southern rail workers are set to strike on three separate occasions between 6 December and 2 January, with more dates to be announced, and thousands of Tube workers have also voted in favour of industrial action.
