Co-operative Travel Management moved to cut the final ties with its former owner yesterday after relaunching as Clarity Travel Management.

The corporate travel agent was run as a joint venture between the troubled mutual and Thomas Cook before the pair sold it to the Saudi-based Al Tayyar Group last year.

The sale formed part of turnaround plans at both Co-op and Thomas Cook to pay down debt.

Under its new identity, Clarity has swapped its blue and orange writing for a yellow and black logo, which will be used across all its communications from online to its 13 regional branches.

Pat McDonagh, the chief executive of Clarity, said: “Our name reflects what we aim to do – we will be bringing clarity to our clients’ travel management programmes.

“The brand and proposition provide a clear service to clients, clear on costing and clear in everything we do. Clients know they can trust us to get their people around the world safely. In the past 12 months, the company has invested £500,000 in developing advanced travel management software into the business.”
