CITY VIEWS: IS THE SKY THE LIMIT FOR THE FTSE 100?

“It’s too soon to assume the FTSEwill keep on going up – I expect it will level off quite quickly. I think the issue at the moment is profits and as we come  to the end of the financial year it could turn out that they are not as spectacular as people have been hoping.”

CHARLIE GREEN EMMET GREEN ASSOCIATES
“It will not go back to where it was, but it will keep on going up for a while. There’s a lot of negative news, but there is a wall of money that’s still sitting there waiting to go in to equity markets. There could be a  correction, but not for two or three months from now.”

“Obviously there is a lot of talk of a ‘double-dip’ fall based on falls in housing or asset prices, but I think the FTSEis being driven more by changes in the exchange rate.I think it could reach 6,000 points in the next month and a half – but, it will be a bumpy ride.”
