WILL MCCANN   HALLIWELLS SOLICITORS
“It’s a bit unfair to expect bonuses to be returned. Where do you stop the catchment of blame? Is it just within the Square Mile or are we meant to shoot down in flames anyone in a position of responsibility?”

NEIL SADLER   CHARTWELL
“I’d love to see all bonuses handed back if the individual believes them to be unfair, but that depends on moral compasses. I’d prefer to see them regulated based on the long-term performance of the business.”

ALISTAIR BROWN   MASTERCARD ADVISORS
“The fact is you’re never going to get the best staff if you don’t offer the best bonuses. It’s become a bit of a feeding frenzy in the press with them attacking bonuses, but many of these people work incredibly hard.”
