City sweating on Tevez and Robinho for Arsenal clash

MANCHESTER CITY could be without big-money buys Robinho and Carlos Tevez for Saturday’s crunch clash with Arsenal.

Eastlands boss Mark Hughes had already resigned himself to losing winger Robinho, who picked up a thigh injury in Brazil’s World Cup qualifying victory with Argentina on Saturday night.

But Hughes was then dealt a double blow when Argentina confirmed Tevez had twisted his knee in the same match, ruling him out of tomorrow’s crucial qualifier with Paraguay.

With neither expected back until Friday, Hughes was expected to rest both players anyway with an array of talent to choose from in reserve.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will have some sympathy for Hughes, however, after losing defender Johan Djourou for six months to a knee injury while away with Switzerland.

Meanwhile, Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas insists Arsenal will not be intimidated by anyone this season.

Fabregas felt the narrow 2-1 defeat by Manchester United ten days ago showed a lot for the character in the side. “It hurts to lose in that way, but we were denied many opportunities and it was a very physical game – maybe too physical – but we showed that we will not be bullied by anybody,” Fabregas said. “Clubs try not to let us play our style of football and some use questionable tactics, but we will not be intimidated by anyone.”
