City Moves: Who’s switching jobs in the Square Mile today?

Palace Capital

Property investment firm Palace Capital has hired a new chief financial officer (CFO).

Matthew Simpson has been promoted to the CFO position, moving up from his position as head of finance and operations.

Simpson, who brings some 15 years’ experience to the top role, has held an array of finance positions, including at PwC and CIT Group Partners.

“Matthew’s appointment recognises the significant contribution he has made to the business over the past five years and we’re very pleased to have him join the Palace Capital Board at an important juncture in the company’s growth,” CEO Neil Sinclair said.

The Ozone Project

Digital advertising platform The Ozone Project has hired a Yahoo veteran into its newly formed role of director of data operations.

Joao Barbosa joins from the Telegraph Media Group where he was director of monetisation and operational analytics for four years.

Barbosa said: “I can’t wait to get stuck in.”

Access Appoints Sally Johnson as New Chief Financial Officer

Reporting directly to chief technology officer Scott Switzer, Barbosa will lead on using data for the firm’s business strategy.

“We’re absolutely delighted to be welcoming Joao to the team. His appointment firmly underlines our commitment to delivering even more products to advertisers and publishers alike,” Switzer said.

Knight Frank

Knight Frank has posted a new lead to its UK building surveying team, based in the firm’s London headquarters.

Stepping into the position after eight years at the firm, Andrew Burt brings an extensive track record in the commercial building surveying space.

Prior to the residential and commercial property consultancy, Burt spent nine years at BNP Paribas Real Estate, in its building consultancy team.

“Andrew’s promotion and appointment to this position reflects his drive to implement our ambitious growth strategy,” head of project and building consultancy, Charles Ingram Evans said.

“Having held an extensive selection process with internal and external candidates, I am confident that, in Andrew, we have settled upon a team head who will continue aligning the focus of our advice with the changing demands of our clients.”
