The bank has hired Penny Lovell as client director in its private banking and trust business.

Lovell joins from Fleming Family & Partners, where she spent eight years in a variety of senior client relationship roles, most recently as group head of business development.

Prior to that, she spent five years at Coutts & Co, providing investment and financial planning advice to trustees before becoming manager of the sports and entertainment client segment.

Odey Asset Management
The fund manager has appointed Simon Todd and Michael Nickson to run the group’s global equities strategy. The pair join from MFS Investment Management, where they managed over $20bn of assets.

Todd trained at Phillips and Drew, having joined from accountancy firm KPMG, while Nickson previously worked at Goldman Sachs.

In their new role, they will start off managing the new Odey Global Allegra Fund, a global equities long-only fund.

Citi
Filippo Sabatini has been appointed global head of public sector for the bank’s global transaction services group.

During his 22-year career at Citi, Sabatini has held roles as public sector industry leader for the EMEA region, EMEA industry sector head for the petroleum, energy, chemical and mining sector, and a senior banker in Italy with responsibility for the same sectors.

Clifford Chance
The law firm’s partners have elected David Harkness to serve a further term as the global leader of its tax, pensions and employment practice.

Harkness took on the role in 2006 and will commence his new four-year term from 1 January. He joined the firm in 1987 as a trainee and became a partner in 1996.

KPMG
The accountancy firm has appointed Alex Plavsic as the new head of its UK forensic practice, taking over from Adam Bates, who becomes UK head of risk and compliance and remains global chairman of forensic.

Plavsic has been with the firm for 18 years, most recently as head of fraud investigations, working on bribery and corruption matters including presenting to the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Serious Fraud Office.

Palamon Capital Partners

Prior to that, Wilson was a management consultant at Bain & Company for six years, for the majority of the time based in London.
