KPMG
The accountancy firm’s forensic practice has recruited Nigel Layton, the founder of specialist corporate investigations firm Quest, as a director in the corporate intelligence team.
Layton set up Quest in 1995 and has since built up its reputation via cases including an inquiry for the Premier League into allegations of irregular payments surrounding certain football transfers. Prior to that, he spent 11 years at Price Waterhouse.
Rothschild
The private bank has appointed Rob Stewart and Hugo Capel-Cure to its investment management team.
Stewart, who becomes head of fixed income, joins from UBS Wealth Management, where he managed the UBS Active Bond Fund and was a senior investment manager.
Capel-Cure joins as a senior portfolio manager from Deutsche Bank, where he was a managing director and equity specialist.
BLM Partners
The private equity firm has hired Gary Long as president and chief operating officer.
Long joins from Investcorp, where he has been president and chief operating officer since 2003, managing the firm’s private equity, hedge funds, real estate and client placement activities.
Prior to that, he held various roles at American Express over a 13-year period in the US, UK and Canada.
Daniel Stewart
Andrew Edwards has joined the stockbroking firm as director of corporate finance.
Edwards previously spent seven years as a director in corporate finance at Oriel Securities and has also worked in the same capacity at Investec.
He has worked on over 30 IPOs in the City, including those of Tullow Oil, and Fitness First.
TMA London
The London subsidiary of Japanese and Asian equities specialist Tokio Marine Asset Management has appointed Jonathan Taylor as associate vice president for business development.
Taylor was previously a fund manager at Sanlam Multi-Manager International, where he co-managed the fixed income portfolios.
Standard Chartered
The bank’s private banking division has appointed Jean-Christophe Steven as regional credit officer for the eastern hemisphere. Steven will be responsible for credit risk management for all the bank’s businesses in India, South East and North East Asia. He joins from BNP Paribas.
Armajaro
The commodities and financial services group has appointed Michael Hutchinson as a non-executive director.
Hutchinson was formerly chairman of RBS Sempra Metals, a director of the London Metal Exchange and chairman and chief executive of Enron Metals in London.
