The private equity group, founded by entrepreneur Luke Johnson, has appointed Michael Simmonds as a senior investment partner responsible for sourcing and managing investment opportunities for the company’s new RCP II fund.

Simmonds joins from Bowmark Capital Partners, where he has been a partner for the past four years.

He was also previously a corporate finance adviser at accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers and worked at Lloyds Development Capital.

Greg Hammond has joined the law firm in London as a partner in the energy and international corporate transactions practices.

Hammond joins the firm from rival White & Case, where he has been a partner for the past 10 years. His practice encompasses M&A transactions, private equity, capital markets and joint ventures across the corporate sector.

Coutts
The private bank has promoted Paul Johnson to managing partner for the firm in the Thames Valley and East Anglia region.

Johnson, a keen sportsman and marathon runner, was previously head of sales and service development at Coutts’ head office on the Strand. He originally joined the bank in July 2000, having begun his financial career with NatWest in 1998.
