CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS

Frontier IP Group
Tim Cockroft, chief executive of broker Singer Capital Markets, has joined the board of the university IP commercialisation specialist as a non-executive director.

Cockroft was formerly chief executive of KBC Peel Hunt. In 2006, he became head of capital markets at Kaupthing, owner of Singer & Friedlander, and bought back the business from the administrators for a nominal sum after the collapse of the Icelandic bank last year.

Quantum
The global wealth manager has appointed Gareth Fielding as chief investment officer and head of asset allocation.

Fielding joins from Rothschild, where he spent six years as chief macroeconomic strategist. He also gained extensive experience managing assets on behalf of government agencies working for Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan Investment Management between 1990 and 2003.

CFA Institute
The global association for investment professionals has appointed Usman Hayat to its EMEA office as director of Islamic finance and environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing.

Hayat moves to the London-based role from the association’s Asia Pacific office, where he specialised in Islamic finance. He has also worked as an independent consultant focusing on the capital markets of Pakistan and as joint director at Pakistan’s securities and exchange commission.
