CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS

Hermes
The fund manager has appointed Saker Nusseibeh as head of investments.

Nusseibeh, who will also join the Hermes main board, joins from Fortis Investments, where he was global head of equities and chief information officer for global equities. He was previously managing director of international equities and chief information officer for global equities at TCW/ Société Générale and has also worked at Mercury Asset Management.

Financial Services Authority
The City regulator has appointed Ivan Rogers and Philip Wallace to the board of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme as non-executive directors.

Rogers started his career as a civil servant and has worked as principal private secretary to former Prime Minister Tony Blair and director of European policy and director of Budget and tax policy at HM Treasury. He most recently worked as a senior government banker for Citigroup.

Wallace was an accountant at KPMG between 1971 and 2005, latterly as vice chairman and chairman of the audit committee. Since his retirement, he has pursued a number of non-executive roles including the chairmanship of the Insolvency Services Steering Board.

DLA Piper
The law firm has appointed insurance litigation specialist John Curran to its London office as a partner in its insurance and reinsurance team.

Curran joins from rival Clifford Chance, where he was also a partner. In his new role he will work with partners Charles Gordon and David Murphy in increasing DLA Piper’s capabilities in the London insurance market for key global clients in the sector.

KPMG
The accountancy firm has appointed Karen Newbury as a director in its restructuring insurance solutions practice.

Newbury joins the team from PricewaterhouseCoopers and has over 14 years of experience in the non-life insurance market. She specialises in advising on finality options for portfolios in run-off, in particular on schemes of arrangement.

Daniel Stewart
The stockbroking firm has hired Christian Wiss as its new head of sales.

Wiss joins from NZB Neue Zurcher Bank, having formerly held positions as a senior vice president at Fox-Pitt Kelton and a director at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.

Exotix
The broking and investment banking firm has appointed Vikas Nath as its new chief executive.

Nath joins Exotix from North of South Capital, a London and Hong Kong-based shariah-compliant emerging markets hedge fund, which he co-founded in 2004.
