The exchange-traded commodities and funds provider has hired Mark Weeks as chief executive of the ETF Exchange, its third-generation exchange-traded fund platform.

Weeks joins from UBS, where he ran the highly successful securities lending franchise in Zurich. Prior to that, he spent seven years at Goldman Sachs, where he was a managing director responsible for running the European securities finance sales and trading desk.

MF Global
The futures brokerage has appointed James Rowsell as managing director of Europe, overseeing its London, Paris, Amsterdam and Geneva offices.

Rowsell joined the group in 2003 as global head of equities, a role based in London. Prior to that, he spent several years at Citigroup, most recently as head of equity sales for Europe.

PricewaterhouseCoopers
The accountancy firm has appointed Paul Davies, previously head of tax at rival Ernst and Young, as the tax industry leader in its retail and consumer group.

Andrew Dale also joins the international and large corporate team as a tax partner from Ernst and Young.

Alignment Investors
The investment management firm, a division of BlueCrest Capital Management, has hired Paul Griffith, Robert Marsden and Michael Dorgen to its fixed income investment team.

Griffith, previously a credit specialist at Merrill Lynch, joins as a credit portfolio manager. Marsden becomes a portfolio manager, having spent 10 years at Mercer as head of fixed income research, and Dorgan joins as an execution trader from Glencore’s multi-strategy credit hedge fund division, Asteri Capital.
