CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS

Resolution
Entrepreneur Clive Cowdery’s investment vehicle has hired Elizabeth Filbert, pictured, and Jon Hack as new partners, taking the total tally of partners in the business to seven.

Gilbert was previously co-head of the European financing group for financial institutions at Goldman Sachs. Hack was a managing director and head of the UK financial institutions group at Lazard, where he also coordinated the European financial institutions group.

Noble
The small-to-mid-cap investment bank has appointed Charles Ashton as finance director and a member of the board.

Ashton originally qualified as a chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers before moving into investment banking, initially focusing on M&A at Lazard and then Flemings.

After the acquisition of Flemings by JPMorgan Chase, he ran their aerospace group within the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, before moving to HSBC.

Over the past five years, he has been finance director of two growth companies, E-Courier and RF Traq.

Montello Private Finance
Ian Sutherland has joined the private bridging finance boutique as a managing director, responsible for investor procurement and relations.

Sutherland joins from Ballymore Group, where he worked in the legal, acquisitions and development divisions of the Irish property developer. He has also previously practised law in the UK and the US with WilmerHale and Clifford Chance.

Newton
The investment management company, part of the Bank of New York Mellon group, has appointed Tracey Dominick to its global research team, specialising in the consumer sector.

Dominick joins from Fidelity Investments, where she was an international research analyst focusing on consumer staples and discretionary companies.

She started her investment career with Fidelity in Boston in 2000.

Sovereign Capital
The UK private equity buy and build specialist has appointed Richard Taylor as assistant director in its investment team.

Taylor joins Sovereign from Octopus Private Equity, where he established and headed up the firm’s Leeds office, leading deals in the lower-mid market. Prior to that, he spent seven years at YFM Group, where he originated, led and exited a number of successful investments.

Heartwood Wealth Management
The wealth manager has appointed Bernard Charles as head of human resources.

Charles, who is also joining the firm’s executive committee, previously worked as HR portfolio head for Standard Bank, and prior to that as head of HR at UK insurance broker Jardine Lloyd Thompson.
