CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS

Close Brothers
The financial services group has appointed Sven Guckelberger as a managing director to its corporate finance advisory arm, Close Brothers Corporate Finance, which has recently been sold to Daiwa Securities SMBC Europe.

Guckelberger will join the restructuring and debt advisory group.

Fenchurch
The investment banking boutique has hired Julian Avery as a senior adviser, focusing on the Lloyd’s of London and Bermuda insurance sectors.

Avery was formerly chief executive of Wellington Underwriting and chairman of Equity Insurance Group. He joins a group of distinguished senior advisers at Fenchurch, including former HM Treasury permanent secretary and Barclays chairman Sir Peter Middleton and ex-RBS Insurance chairman Ian Chippendale.

Execution
The agency broker has appointed Iain Whiteley as a senior salesman in its London office.

Whiteley previously worked at Dresdner Kleinwort as head of UK sales, managing a team focused on UK institutions and hedge funds. He has also worked at Robert Fleming Securities, latterly as a director and head of UK sales, and at JP Morgan.

Cordea Savills
The property fund manager has appointed David Bailey as a consultant, supporting its Charities Property Fund. Bailey was previously at Aberdeen Asset Management, where he was head of charities. Prior to that, he was vice president of charities at Deutsche Asset Management.
