Today’s City Moves cover finance, legal eagles, engineering and banking. Take a look at these movers and shakers:

BNY Mellon Markets

Dan Watkins has been appointed Head of BNY Mellon Markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In this role, he will oversee the growth of BNY Mellon Markets as it responds to increased client demand in the face of ongoing regulatory and market structure changes. He succeeds Richard Gill, who announced his retirement earlier this year. Dan will play a central role in further optimising the markets solution set to meet the evolving needs of clients in the field. Dan has significant industry experience, ranging from senior roles at JP Morgan and Jardine Fleming to co-founding investment management fintech, LatentZero. He will be based in London and will report to Michelle Neal, with regional accountability to Michael Cole-Fontayn, BNY Mellon’s EMEA chairman.

Boodle Hatfield

Law firm Boodle Hatfield has strengthened its corporate team with the appointment of new partner, Jane Ireland. Jane joins the firm from Ashfords. Before entering the law, she worked extensively in the manufacturing sector in both Canada and the UK. She brings to the firm a strong track record and further expertise in advising entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals on their business and commercial interests. Jane specialises in mergers, acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and reorganisations, offering a pragmatic and commercial perspective.

Weir Group

The Weir Group has appointed Rosemary McGinness to its group executive as chief people officer (CPO). Rosemary will join Weir in the summer from international spirits company William Grant & Sons, where she has been global human resources director for the past 12 years. Her previous roles include senior vice-president, human resources, of Browne Business Solutions in the United States and human resources director of William Lea in London. Rosemary will succeed current CPO Pauline Lafferty, who will leave Weir after six years’ service in the summer.

Aldermore

Aldermore, the specialist bank, has announced the appointment of Rachel Lintott as head of internal sales and support for asset finance. Rachel has over 16 years of experience within financial services, beginning her career with Lombard in 2001, before spending the last 13 years supporting the development of Deutsche Leasing’s UK business. Rachel will report to Patrick Jelly, commercial director for asset finance.
