City Moves for 6 March 2019 – Who’s switching jobs at Muzinich & Co, Duff & Phelps and Mayer Brown?

Today's City Moves includes movers and shakers from Muzinich & Co, Duff & Phelps and Mayer Brown.

Muzinich & Co

Muzinich & Co has announced that Archie Beeching has joined as director of responsible investing with immediate effect. In this newly-created role, Archie will focus on strengthening the ongoing integration of the firm’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) policies into the investment process, liaising with investors and companies and broadening the firm’s ESG-based initiatives across public and private debt markets. Archie joins from the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment where he spent seven years, initially leading on fixed income and latterly as head of private markets. His responsibilities included clarifying financial implications of sustainability risks and opportunities and promoting best practice.

Duff & Phelps

Duff & Phelps, the global advisor that protects, restores and maximises value for clients, today announced the appointment of Andy Murray as a managing director in its compliance and regulatory consulting practice. Based in the firm’s London office, Andy’s remit will include providing advisory services to alternative investment funds, such as private equity and hedge funds, with a primary focus on the international tax aspects of their structures. He will also offer deal-specific advice related to the acquisition, restructuring and disposal of investment portfolio assets. Andy joins Duff & Phelps from Milestone International Tax Partners where he was responsible for the firm’s funds offering, covering all elements of fund advisory, including structuring, deal advisory and tax risk management. Prior to his role at Milestone, Andy worked with PwC and Lehman Brothers investment bank.

Mayer Brown

Mayer Brown is pleased to announce that Michael Fiddy and Amy Jacks will join the firm’s restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency practice in London as partners. Michael will co-lead Mayer Brown’s global restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency practice, while Amy will co-lead the UK and European practices. Michael and Amy have considerable experience in cross-border and high-profile restructuring and insolvency transactions, both contentious and non-contentious. Both partners will join the firm from DLA Piper, where Michael is the global co-chair of the restructuring group. Between 2000 and 2002, Michael also served as the managing director of Fulham Football Club and its associated companies. Amy is the UK head of restructuring at DLA Piper. Expanding its restructuring capabilities in London is a strategic area of focus for Mayer Brown.
