Who’s switching jobs today?

Econic Technologies

UK-based pioneering cleantech company, Econic Technologies, has announced the appointment of Dr. Just Jansz as the new non-executive chair to the board of directors to take it into the next phase of business scale up. Having worked in the chemical industry for well over 30 years, and holding a PhD in chemical metallurgy from Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands, Jansz brings a wealth of global expertise to Econic.

His previous roles include senior positions at Shell, Basell and Lyondellbasell, and he is the founder and managing director of business and technology management consultancy Expertise Beyond Borders. As a former president of technology business at Lyondellbasell, Jansz has extensive experience in the polyolefin industry and related value chains, in commercialising innovation and in monetising IP. He is currently serving as a non-executive director on the board of Synthomer, and is a senior advisor with Natrium Capital.

Pinsent Masons

International law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed one of the City’s most pre-eminent practitioners in structured finance, securitisation and other structured finance transactions. Ian Falconer was formerly a partner at Freshfields where, during a period of 30 years, he played a pivotal role in the development of the firm’s structured finance business in London (which he headed between 1993 and 2001) and Paris, and the European securitisation market more generally.

He joins Pinsent Masons as senior consultant. His experience covers a range of public and private transactions, commencing with the very first securitisation transactions in the UK market.

BNP Paribas

International banking group BNP Paribas announced that Lewis Burnett joined the bank today as co-head of corporate broking, based in London. Lewis reports to Andreas Bernstorff, EMEA head of equity capital markets, and will be overseen in his role by Matthew Ponsonby, UK head of global banking.

The move reunites Lewis with Andrew Forrester, who joined the bank as co-head of corporate broking in August. As they build out the corporate broking team, Lewis and Andrew will aim to position BNP Paribas as a trusted adviser to the senior management teams of UK FTSE 100 and 250 companies, and increase BNP Paribas’ market share in UK equity-related transactions.

Lewis was latterly head of UK Advisory and Corporate Broking at Credit Suisse where he worked since 2005, advising on numerous high profile capital raisings and M&A transactions. Prior to that, Lewis worked as a lawyer in the City.
