Today's City Moves cover telecoms, legal eagles and mattress retail. Take a look at these movers and shakers:

Hyperoptic

Boris Dragovic has been appointed as chief strategy and transformation officer at Hyperoptic, the UK’s largest gigabit broadband provider. Boris will be responsible for ensuring that Hyperoptic has a winning strategy to bring cutting-edge broadband services across Britain and successfully drives through the complexity that comes with being a rapidly growing organisation in a fast-paced industry. Boris brings a wealth of experience to the role. He previously served as senior vice president at McKinsey & Company’s recovery and transformation services and a leader of high tech, media and telecom practice, where he advised telco clients globally on defining and executing strategies and achieving major transformation goals. He holds a PhD in the field of mobile computing, telecommunications and information security from the University of Cambridge.

Brown Rudnick

International law firm Brown Rudnick has expanded its international corporate practice with the appointment of Philip Watkins as a partner in the London office. Philip joins Brown Rudnick with Victoria Rodley, counsel, from Katten Muchin Rosenman UK. Philip is a senior practitioner in corporate and commercial law, with particular emphasis on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, sophisticated private equity transactions, takeovers, strategic investments, joint ventures, restructurings, re-financings, buyouts and exit strategies. Philip’s long-term clients include leading private equity house Inflexion Capital, the Middle East’s largest integrated media group Rotana Group, and Galileo Global Education, a leading international provider of higher education.

Eve Sleep

Eve, the direct to consumer European sleep brand, has appointed James Sturrock as chief executive with effect from 10 September, and the appointment of Nikki Crumpton to the board as senior independent non-executive director with immediate effect, replacing Peter Hepworth who has decided to step down from his role. James brings proven experience in leading online-focused consumer companies combined with a strong background in marketing and brand development. He was previously managing director of Moonpig, the UK’s leading online greetings card, flower and gift company, which he joined in 2014. During his tenure, James delivered four consecutive years of double-digit revenue and Ebitda growth, expanded the product offering, and led the successful rebranding of the business in 2017. Following James’ appointment, interim CEO Abid Ismail will continue his role as CFO of the company.
